Abstract

Calculations of the bramsstrahlung resulting from electron ion collision in plasmas with non-Maxwellian electron velocity distributions are made with special regard to laser produced plasmas. The quantum mechanical theory has been used with restriction to non-relativistic electron energies and a pure Coulomb potential of the ions within the plasma. Results for the spectrum, the angular dependence, the intensity and the polarization of the emitted bremsstrahlung for some examples of non-Maxwellian isotropic and anisotropic electron velocity distributions are presented.
