Abstract

Fusion cross-sections are calculated by deriving the ion-ion interaction potential analytically from the Skyrme energy density formalism. For collisions between neutron rich nuclei, the fusion cross-section is found to get enhanced with the increase of neutron number(s) in either (or both) of the reaction partners. Experimental data are needed.
