Abstract

We introduce a complex calculus of variations, analogous to classical calculus of variations, but about functions from C n into C . This calculus is based on the minimum of a complex function defined in Gondran (1999). The complex minimum allows also to proposed explicit solutions for complex Hamilton–Jacobi equations, in particular to generalized the Hopf–Lax formula.
