Abstract
As would be expected, C programming textbooks have a great deal of commonality. However, this analysis notes that there also are many points of variance that may escape the casual observer of a textbook table of contents. Some C textbooks lose sight of structured techniques, for example, whereas others cloud important distinctions, such as the difference between a definition and a declaration. In addition, the readability levels of each book vary widely. This analysis looks at reasons to compare, and methods for comparison, during the textbook selection process.
