Abstract

Business process modelling (PM) is a way to support business processes (BPs) by using several methodologies, techniques, models, and systems to analyse, design and control business processes, where many resources been used: humans, technology, applications, organisations, etc. These techniques and model were widely used in the organisational structures development, information systems, service oriented architectures and the web services. However, people are not able to understand these techniques and that is one of the reasons why IT is often unable to completely implement the desired BP. The purpose of this paper is to implement and build a web service in order to present the business PM framework which can be easily understood by IT people. A mobile phone order management process was used as a case study to validate the proposed framework. The results indicate that: 1) the web service can be easily implemented and built when it based on well-accepted business PM framework; 2) business PM positively influences the system implementation according to business expectations; 3) by considering IT at the time of business PM, it resulted in better social and cultural relationships between the business and IT staff.
