Abstract

The article is devoted to the disclosure of the type of business communication in the managerial activity of the head of a social institution; business communication is defined as a specific form of activity of participants in the management process; the subject, purpose, functions and principles of business communication are disclosed; it has been proven that communication in management is an important tool for performing the main management functions: organization, motivation, planning and control; the main content and main responsibilities of the manager of a social institution are revealed, as well as the rules he must follow in communicating with subordinates. Using the example of a seminar conducted by the authors of the article (the annual school-seminar "Modern Pedagogical Technologies in Education", held at the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute"), the effectiveness of the proposed methods for determining the communicative competence of the head of a social institution was proven; training exercises for acquiring knowledge and building business communication skills are offered, which prove that effective business communication can and should be learned for successful professional management activities.
