Burns and the Scottish folk-song
Poems written in imitation of the motifs and melodies of Scottish folk-songs take an eminent place in Burns's literary heritage. The poet's interest in and acquaintance with the Scottish songs was determined by different biographical and historical factors. Burns recorded and transformed the Scottish folk-songs in different ways and forms: sometimes the poet made only slight alterations in the text of the songs, sometimes he changed the structure of the song by adding new stanzas to it or by reducing it, sometimes he took only some elements of the previous song (the title, the chorus, one or several lines etc.) and created a new song, sometimes he made quite original songs based on folklore and traditional images etc. There is an evident connection between the lyric and the music in Burns's songs. The poet would never write the lyric until he had made himself completely familiar with the melody. Burns was well acquainted with the life of simple people and with their spiritual world. It helped him to penetrate into the very essence of folk-song and to catch its main features: simplicity, unaffected beauty, spontaneity and humaneness. He differs from many folk-song collectors of his time, who didn't consider folk poetry as such but tried to revise it in the spirit of literary laws. Burns absorbed the very idiom of the folk-songs and transmitted them as if he himself were an anonymous popular bard. Burns has managed to infuse into his songs different folk elements. He knew how to recreate lyric, humorous and heroic aspects of the folk-songs, their poetic imagery and genuine folk feeling. At the same time they bear the stamp of his own personality. They reflect his social and moral principles, his poetic vision of life.

The present study aims at identifying and interpreting the role that the horse plays in folk poetry. More specifically, we extracted the material of folklore from the answers provided by village intellectuals starting in 1922, when the first survey was issued by The Romanian Language Museum. We had in mind the answers to question number 138: „What do people believe about the horse? What role does it play in legends, carols, disenchantments?”. We also analysed the significance this animal has in poetic imagery.

The Light and its Disappearance in the Darkness; The chapter begins with the question of what can be found in the integration of architecture and cinema and continues exploring light in the context of cinematic architecture theory. This is followed by a discussion of the illusions of light that emerge in spaces where cinema and architecture meet. The thought then reaches Paul Virilio's conception of the aesthetics of architecture as a metaphor for cinema from the experience of space, the image of disappearance. It suggested I make a film work, 'Hiroshima Through Light', in the AA. The Experimentation in the AA Diploma Unit 3; This chapter describes the exploration of cinematic architecture under the tutelage of Pascal Schöning, a unit master of the AA, which includes philosophy, aesthetics, and challenges to urban and social issues, along with his unique methodology. He explains to his former students the importance of a more philosophical approach to the notion at the end of Diploma Unit 3. That is when I see Juhani Pallasmaa's description of the need for architects to look at people's daily lives and society through a phenomenological approach, like filmmakers. My awareness moves on to a study of the architects depicted by filmmakers. Image of Architects Depicted in Film; The images of architects in the films of Michelangelo Antonioni, Terrence Malick and Hirokazu Kore-eda are discussed. It indicates that they are entrusted with a role of building human relationships. Cinématic Architecture Tokyo; This chapter outlines activities in Japan that are being rolled out in the form of workshops, lectures and exhibitions to develop the theory of cinematic architecture. The theme of the workshops held in the Hokuriku region was the revitalisation of declining local urban communities, which is also related to the previous chapter on “building human relationships”. This year, the projection attempted to embody poetic images to illuminate memories that are being lost. Conclusion; In addition to reflecting on essential elements such as the aesthetics of disappearing light, memory, history, poetic imagery, narrative and social issues, adding a focus on the significance of communication design, fields of sense and spatial quality, could bring new perspectives to the integration of architecture.

The article explores the use of images in Christian educational tradition. It deals with the attitudes towards fine arts that has been hitherto thematized mainly within philo-sophical discourse. In this paper we shall avoid theological debates on images in religion and focus on neutral images that were not used in ritual practices. The author shows that in ancient pedagogical thought the importance of artistic and poetic imagery was highly praised and they were believed to be superior in quality and ontological value to images. The works of fine arts were considered as agents of knowledge suitable to educate common-ers. Representation in general played an important role in Hellenistic society and culture. However, since education was elitist, visualization received no special place of its own in ped-agogy. The perception of the visual arts in Christianity and Judaism was based on the same principles of using images that had previously been used in Hellenistic culture, by adapting them to the cult and mindset of their religions. The walls of synagogues, houses of Christian meetings, catacombs, churches, etc. were painted with frescoes and decorated with mosa-ics. Small visual forms and illustrated codices were quite important. Analysis of the visual heritage confirms its connection with religious education. Christian adoption of fine arts also developed the ancient thought on artworks as agents of knowledge. Christian authors applied to images those concepts that previously concerned only poetry. Ideas on the psycho- emotional impact of images were often expressed. Latin authors, fully aware of these ideas, accentuated the use of images as a means of educating the illiterate. Being involved in teach-ing commoners, they made important observations about the educational use of images. In particular they emphasized that the agency of images was restricted: pictures required expla-nation and could even be misleading.

Divination is a pivotal aspect of African Traditional Religion (ATR). In African indigenous cosmologies and spiritual systems, divination is the means through which the Divine to speak with humans, offering insight, guidance, and solutions to community and individual. This communicative role is what is referred to as prophetic role of divination. Divination also performs diagnostic and therapeutic role, aiming to identify the hidden causes of tragedies, illnesses, and social strife and proposing solutions. Oracles, spirit possession, and symbolic items help diviners communicate with the spiritual world. Divination is examined as a religious activity, epistemic framework, and moral compass in African world view. It emphasizes its responsibilities in justice, leadership, health, and ethics, highlighting its relevance in current African spiritual life and its similarities to prophetic traditions in global religion. This research adapts a qualitative methodology, using ethnographic fieldwork, practitioner and community interviews, and historical text analysis for its data analysis. Kleinhempel's African Indigenous Knowledge Systems (AIKS) and Mezirow's Transformational Theory underpin this work. These theories suggest that divination as a cultural epistemology bridges the spiritual and physical. Findings reveals that divination rituals are rites of passage, helping people through personal crises and self-discovery. Diviners also mediate conflicts and promote community harmony. The study recommends that diviners and modern medicine should collaborate to provide holistic care.
