Abstract
The article deals with innovative and promising design of energy-efficient envelopes of high-rise buildings. The aim of the research is to study modern technologies and methods of integrating the energy producing photovoltaic modules into the envelope structures of skyscrapers. The research methodology is based on a system analysis of the world’s best practices in the design and construction of energy-efficient high-rise buildings and structures. The article considers special features of varieties of silicon based photovoltaic modules. The paper analyses the efficiency of applying different types of solar panels along with the functional, structural and space-planning solutions of high-rise structures. The issues of creating the plastic of a facade taking into account the efficiency of photovoltaic panels are discussed. As a result, the study emphasizes the extremely important role of high-rise building envelope structures in using positive and reducing negative impacts of climatic factors on the energy balance of a building. In conclusions the article shows the prospective applications of BIPV technologies in high-rise construction.
