Abstract

The BTI/Army Pulse Power Module (PPM) is a self-contained, rep-rated, mobile power supply designed to drive a large-caliber electric gun. The PPM consists of four 2.125 MJ capacitive pulse forming network modules, powered by quasi-bipolar batteries, driven through a 1.2 MW DC-DC power converter. The flexible PPM design required the development of new components, as well as extending the state of the art in existing components, in order to minimize weight and volume. A system level review of the BTI/Army Pulse Power Module is presented. >
