Abstract
Knife violence in Britain has gained a lot of attention from the media lately and appears to be far worse than the oYcial statistics by the British Crime Survey [1]. According to the latest Department of Health statistics, the number of recorded hospital admissions from stabbing assaults have shown to have risen [1, 2]. Health care professionals need to be equipped with the knowledge of managing the various types of presentations related to such injuries. Stab wounds with bony involvement have rarely been reported in the literature. There has been only one case report on a patient who presented with a stab wound to the arm with an intraosseous foreign body [3]. We report a case where the patient presented with a broken knife blade impaled in the proximal humerus due to a stab injury to the arm.
