Abstract

Despite recommendations for permissive hypotension during transfer of patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (rAAAs), no consensus has been reached regarding about optimal blood pressure (BP) management. Hypertension in this population has been postulated to worsen hemorrhage by disruption of contained ruptures, although severe hypotension increases the risk of global ischemia. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of hypertension and severe hypotension during interhospital transfers in a cohort of hypotensive patients with rAAAs.
