Abstract
Pretreatment witn apomorphine markedly antagonized the increase of striatal homovanillic acid induced by fenfluramine. In contrast, the effect of amphetamine on honovanillic acid was not affected by apomorphine pretreatment. Fenfluramine significantly reduced the apomorphine stereotypy in a dose-dependent manner. It is suggested that fenfluramine acts on striatal dopamine by a mechanisms similar to that of neuroleptics.
