Abstract
1. 1. A substance which inhibits development of fertilized sea urchin eggs has been isolated from the scleractinian coral Tubastrea aurea. 2. 2. The compound was identified as aplysinopsin, which has already been isolated from some sponges, by spectral analyses. 3. 3. Complete 13C NMR assignment for aplysinopsin has been made by an LSPD (long-range selective proton decoupling) experiment.
