Abstract
This paper explores the application of Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs), company intra-group policies enabling licit transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) within the group. It considers the contribution of BCRs to the issue of compliance with current EU law and evaluates the recent initiative of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to develop a standard BCR format.
