Abstract

A bilateral amplifier using photodiode-type optoisolators is proposed. It has sufficient gain for use in telecommunication equipment, achieved by enhancement of the current transfer ratio through multiple optical feedback loops. It is clear from experimental and theoretical results that the positive gain increases with the feedback multi-factor n, and that a gain of 20 dB can be obtained for n = 6.
