Abstract
Inferior dislocation of the humeral head, or luxatio erecta, is much less common than either anterior or posterior dislocations, accounting for approximately 1 in 200 glenohumeral dislocations. Bilateral, simultaneous inferior dislocation is an extremely rare injury. We present a patient who came to our trauma unit with bilateral luxatio erecta after a horseback riding accident.
