Abstract

A mixture of 1,2-dipalmitoyl- sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) phospholipid and sodium chelate (SC) formed bicelles (DPPC–SC bicelle) at around 50 °C. In 2H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurement of the dispersion of DPPC–SC bicelle, quadrupole splitting of D2O, an index of the ability to orient molecules, was observed.
