Abstract
Abstract Psychology is unable to demonstrate its legitimacy as a rigorous profession or a positive science. The Boulder model as well as the alternative theories proposed by the positivists, constructivists and hermeneuticists are part of a larger and more fundamental dialectical process; one that finds its historical significance within the philosophical tradition as well as all aspects of human action. It is time for psychology to wake up from the repressive slumber of positivism and reaffirm its position as a human science.
