Abstract

We derive the Bethe-Salpeter equation for bound states of a four-body system. We treat only two-body interaction kernels in the ladder approximation. Our equations should be applicable for the description of exotic meson states ([Formula: see text] states) and the “polypositronium” states discussed in connection with the interpretation of the narrow coincidence peaks in the spectra of electrons and positrons observed in heavy ion collisions.
