Abstract
Safety Note: The synthesis protocol described in this article (heating a mixture of DMSO/nitromethane in the presence of acid and a solid in a sealed tube) must be carried out under strict safety precautions. It cannot be excluded that the reaction mixture explodes, although there have been no incidents in the authors′ laboratory. The safety note was also added to the Supporting Information (page S2).
