Abstract

To the Editor: Melanoma remains the leading cause of skin disease-related death in the United States.1 Routine public screening is a promising approach to reducing melanoma mortality,2,3 but published efforts have focused on urban and suburban communities with limited extension into rural areas. Medically underserved rural communities rely heavily on primary care providers (PCPs) for melanoma screening and prevention, but these practices have not been systematically studied.
