Abstract

A new possibility to study hydrogen in composite metal films through the use of hydrogen sensitive palladium gate metal-oxide-semiconductor devices is described. Results on the behavior of hydrogen in composite layers of aluminum and palladium are presented. It is concluded that although hydrogen atoms pass through a noncatalytic Al layer, there are no adsorption sites with polarized hydrogen atoms at an Al-SiO2 interface.
