Abstract

This study examined the performance of beech and self-tapping screw composite dowel applied to non-extruded L-shaped member joints and carries out theoretical calculation and analysis of stiffness. The test results indicated that eleven specimens showed three failure modes. Itwas found that the composite dowel had different degrees of bending phenomenon. Thefailure modes were also proved by the finite element analysis. Since the spruce-pine-fir was in the middle of the L-shaped specimen set in this test, it can rotate around the geometric center composed of four composite dowels.
