Abstract
En los países en vías de desarrollo las complicaciones durante el embarazo y el parto se dan en su mayoría en mujeres que carecieron de un cuidado adecuado durante el embarazo(1). Por ello, el Ministerio de Salud busca lograr un manejo estandarizado y de calidad de la salud materna perinatal; así, define como gestante controlada aquella que ha cumplido con 6 atenciones prenatales y que recibió el paquete básico de atención a la gestante.
