Abstract

Abstract Durham’s barometric pressure record is by far the longest digital pressure record in northern England. This chapter examines Durham’s extremes of barometric pressure over the period 1843 to 1960, considering both high and low barometric pressure on individual days and by monthly means, for each month of the year and for the near 120-year record as a whole.
