Abstract
Ideally, a Christian's spiritual formation envisions a positive attitude toward aging and contains coping mechanisms for their struggles with growing older. In keeping with this ideal, the author's practical theology uses two metaphorical models to help nurture a healthy spiritual condition by promoting adaptive religious coping for aging: “(B)old. Our crown of glory,” a positive image of growing older contrasted with “crown of thorns,” a negative view of aging.
