Abstract

Abstract Azachlorins 2b a novel type of hydroporphinoid compounds 2 have been synthesized from a readily accessable azaporphyrin 5b by regioselective cycloaddition of singlet oxygen. The photophysical properties of the azachlorins 2b recommend these chlorin derivatives as potential markers and photosensitizers for tumor therapy.
