Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the use of a rational dosage methodology of soil/cement using a semi-precious stones by product, analyzing the cement content, porosity and voids / cement through unconfined compressive strength (qu) and splitting tensile strength (qt)of an artificially cemented waste samples. A program test, varying the porosity (η) and the cement content (C) was used in this study. It was found that a power function adapts well to the unconfined compressive strength values as well as with increasing cement content and reducing the porosity of the compacted mixture. It was also shown that the ratio of voids / cement (η / Civ) is a good parameter for evaluating the unconfined compressive strength and splitting tensile strength for by products / cement samples for all cement and porosity levels. It was also possible to find a unique relationship between (qt /qu) of the material, regardless of empty relationship voids/cement, resulting in the ratio of 0.14. Keywords: Soil-cement; Agate Residue; Fine Sand; Compressive Strength; Tensile Strength.
