Abstract

As they constitute one of the main means of communication between institutions and their target audience, institutional websites are considered essential in the digital environment for educational institutions in the information age. Therefore, this article evaluates the usability of the IFCE Campus Boa Viagem institutional website based on the application of a checklist adapted from Rocha and David (2021) with a focus on the architectural approach in order to identify strengths and weaknesses of that website. It addresses information architecture through approaches (architectural, informational, systemic and pervasive) according to Vidotti, Oliveira and Bentes (2015). Methodologically, the research is classified as exploratory, qualitative-quantitative and bibliographic. As a result, the research demonstrated that the architectural approach contributed to the identification of problems relating to the usability of the institutional website and the strengths and weaknesses of which were listed by the evaluators.
