Abstract
In this paper, the auxiliary switch control using lookup table is proposed to enhance the efficiency of a bi-directional DC/DC converter for EVs. The bi-directional DC/DC converter performs soft switching. It is difficult to obtain continuous current data at the resonant operation. The proposed auxiliary switch control has a look-up table reference of the auxiliary switch turn-on time. The control method properly controls the auxiliary switch turn-on time according to the required load current and is sufficiently safe and efficient in a regenerative mode. The validity of the proposed approach has been demonstrated by the experimental results on a bi-directional DC/DC converter, inverter, IPMSM.
