Abstract

Mobile multimedia broadcast is a result of the development of the digital TV under the trend of network convergence. In this paper, according to the requirement of authentication and authorization, the particularities of mobile multimedia broadcast are analyzed. The problems of traditional conditional access and digital right management in mobile multimedia broadcast are shown. A new scheme of authentication and authorization for mobile multimedia broadcast is proposed. Its framework and kernel technologies, such as the overlapped network model, the combination of conditional access and digital right management, and the simplified double layers conditional access, are designed and analyzed. Through the comparison of the proposed scheme and the traditional conditional access system, in mobile multimedia broadcast, the proposed scheme is fit for large scale authentication.
