Abstract
In this article we will first describe Austria's system of environmental law. After that we would like to share a Jew thoughts about the controversy between command and control systems and market based systems of environmental protection. Finally we will present a draft for an Austrian environmental liability law, and touch upon several issues also mentioned in the Commission's Green Paper on Remedying Environmental Damage.
