Abstract

Abstract The author was at first student, then colleague and friend of the practical theologian and major figure of the pastoral caremovement in Germany, Dietrich Stollberg (1937-2014). In this article he gives an overview of the life and work of Stollberg, his motives and intentions and his contribution to the theory and practice of pastoral care, to other fields of practical theology and to the development of the Protestant Church in Germany.
