Abstract

Similar attenuation patterns are found in quasi-maximum medium-frequency sky-wave field-strength values following each of the high-altitude nuclear explosions at Johnston Island. The pattern is formed by periods of severe attenuation lasting 1 or 2 days; it extends from the second to the tenth day after each explosion.
