Abstract

The transmission of fast, intermediate and thermal neutrons from a D + T generator was investigated within slabs of pure and borated low density polyethylene with different borax concentrations in addition to poly-vinyl-chloride. The presence of borax in polyethylene shows a remarkable change in its absorption characteristics. The results show that poly-vinyl-chloride has the same effect as borated polyethylene with certain borax concentration.
