Abstract

1. 1. Results of one year's (1958–1959) atmospheric pollen survey of Delhi by gravity-slide method have been reported. 2. 2. About 91 per cent of the total annual pollen catch was identified and assigned to 38 types of pollen. 3. 3. The incidence of entomophilous pollens was usually associated with high wind velocities. 4. 4. Atmosphere is never completely pollen-free but, roughly, two pollen seasons can be deliminated. Grass and weed pollens predominate from August to October or early November and tree and shrub pollens from February to April. But, during the first season, pollens of a few trees and shrubs and, during the second season, pollens of some weeds and grasses are also found. 5. 5. Great fluctuations in the quantitative incidence of many tree pollens in the two consecutive years have been observed.
