Abstract
The late Dr. Gershon-Cohen was the pioneer of modern mammography in the United States, and was in large part responsible for the acceptance of this technique in this country. His book, which is a combination of atlas and text, is the fruit of many years' work not only developing radiologic techniques, but also demonstrating the clinical usefulness of mammography. While recognizing that most of the roentgenograms reproduced in this book were made before the advent of the new molybdenum target tubes and specially designed mammography equipment, it must be stated that the quality of the films is excellent and great care was taken in reproducing them. A succinct, but certainly more than adequate, discussion of technical considerations involved in obtaining satisfactory mammograms includes many meticulous details which only the experience of 30 years of mammographic study and more than 50,000 exams can provide.
