Abstract
lanning for a successful sport event requires thorough assessment and manage-ment of risk, which may include orchestra-tion of large numbers of people, vehicles, sup-plies, and activities across different venues. Strong public and media interest in such events further com-plicates organization. Sport management professionals, athletic directors, and event pro-moters excel in assess-ing and managing the organizational, admin-istrative, and market-ing challenges of such an event, but their skill sets often lack expertise relating to prehospital injury management and medical care systems.
