Abstract

Asymmetric star block copolymers were prepared using conventional anionic polymerization methodology. The asymmetric star block copolymer contains at least two kinds of arms with varied molecular weight polystyrene (S) endblocks, typically, high molecular weight S endblocks and low molecular S endblocks. When formulated into pressure sensitive adhesives with selected tackifiers, the high molecular weight S blocks provide a necessary physical crosslinking network while the lower molecular weight S blocks provide the system with good deformability and improved lifting resistance.
