Abstract

Introduction: Perineal injuries affect hundreds of thousands of women in Europe and millions worldwide every year. Vaginal births are associated with causing some form of trauma to the genital system. Aim: The aim of this literature review is to investigate and inform the readers about the current literature on the subject of the prognostic factors blamed for causing vaginal and perineal ruptures and to correlate them with the impact on the woman’s quality of life.
