Abstract
The Bakony is one of the most active areas in Hungary. Not only is the region home to several popular hiking destinations, but its industrial activity is also significant. On this basis, it is important to carry out a comprehensive study to assess the radioecological status of the Bakony. In this study, 12 monitoring points were selected to collect environmental samples over three different time periods. The samples were analyzed by gamma- and alpha spectrometry. Although the concentrations of Th-232, Ra-226 and K-40 closely resembled the worldwide averages, that of Po-210 in the vicinity of human activities was elevated.
