Abstract

The temperature of hydrogen in a graphite tube furnace has been determined using broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) spectroscopy. Significant laser-induced population changes were observed within the vibrational state manifold, whereas the rotational envelope in both fundamental and hot band remained unchanged.
