Abstract
In a recent survey of ACR members, roughly half reported that they had been impacted by mergers and acquisitions activity in the past 3 years, and approximately 40% expected to be impacted by such activity in the future [1]. Pressure to provide shorter turnaround times, 24-hour coverage, and more subspecialized reads have been key driving forces [2]. Concerns about mergers and acquisitions activity were especially high among those in national and teleradiology practices, and those in academic practices and military practices were least concerned [3].
