Abstract

It is shown that the Wiener-Hopf technique introduced by Chew in the single-channel case to remove the artificial singularity near the strip boundary can be applied straightforwardly to the multichannel case. The singular $N{D}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ equations are reduced to a system of Fredholm equations which can be solved directly by numerical methods. No new Wiener-Hopf operators arise.
