Artificial Intelligence in Library Cataloging: A Review of Literature
This paper reviews existing peer-reviewed literature concerning the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the context of library cataloging work published since the public release of ChatGPT in 2022. Patterns of analysis in the literature are identified, rigor of investigations assessed, and areas for future work indicated. Existing peer reviewed literature tends to have optimistic-to-positive evaluations of the usefulness and applicability of AI technologies to the creation and maintenance of library metadata, but generally lacks compelling experimental evidence to support its findings. Additional investigation is necessary to establish performance benchmarks for both human and AI-assisted cataloging in order to adequately assess the desirability and efficacy of AI integration into library cataloging.

We are glad to introduce you that the 2021 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Applications (ICAITA 2021) was successfully held on September 10-12, 2021. In light of worldwide travel restriction and the impact of COVID-19, ICAITA 2021 was carried out in the form of virtual conference to avoid personnel gatherings. Because most participants were still highly enthusiastic about participating in this conference, we chose to carry out ICAITA 2021 via online platform according to the original schedule instead of postponing it.ICAITA 2021 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Applications to a common forum. The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities in Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Applications and another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Applications and related areas.This scientific event brings together more than 100 national and international researchers in artificial intelligence technologies and applications. During the conference, the conference model was divided into three sessions, including oral presentations, keynote speeches, and online Q&A discussion. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches.We were pleased to invite three distinguished experts to present their insightful speeches. Our first keynote speaker, Prof. Yau Kok Lim, from Sunway University, Malaysia. His research interests include Applied artificial intelligence, 5G networks, Cognitiveradio networks, Routing and clustering, Trust and reputation, Intelligent transportation system. And then we had Prof. Peter Sincak, from Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia. His research includes Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems. Lastly, we were glad to invite Chinthaka Premachandra, from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Sri Lanka. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, image processing and robotics. In the last part of the conference, all participants were invited to join in a WeChat group to discuss and explore the academic issues after the presentations. The online discussion was lasted for about 30-60 minutes. The first two parts were conducted via online collaboration tool, Zoom, while the online discussion was carried out through instant communication tool, WeChat. The online platform enabled all participants to join this grand academic event from their own home.We are glad to share with you that we still received lots of submissions from the conference during this special period. Hence, we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. These papers feature following topics but are not limited to: Artificial Intelligence Applications & Technologies, Computing and the Mind, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence and other related topics. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of international publication standard.Lastly, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Chairman, the distinguished keynote speakers, as well as all the participants. To review the application and research progress of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in trauma treatment. The recent research literature on the application of AI and related technologies in trauma treatment was reviewed and summarized in terms of prehospital assistance, in-hospital emergency care, and post-traumatic stress disorder risk regression prediction, meanwhile, the development trend of AI technology in trauma treatment were outlooked. The AI technology can rapidly analyze and manage large amount of clinical data to help doctors identify patients' situation of trauma and predict the risk of possible complications more accurately. The application of AI technology in surgical assistance and robotic operations can achieve precise surgical plan and treatment, reduce surgical risks, and shorten the operation time, so as to improve the efficiency and long-term effectiveness of the trauma treatment. There is a promising future for the application of AI technology in the trauma treatment. However, it is still in the stage of exploration and development, and there are many difficulties of historical data bias, application condition limitations, as well as ethical and moral issues need to be solved.

With the development of society and the progress of science and technology, more and more technologies are being applied to the intelligent building system. The study summarizes and analyzes the development status of intelligent buildings, then analyzes and generalizes the advantages, disadvantages, and applications of several artificial intelligence and communication technologies in the intelligent building system. Results show that this paper introduces the three applications of artificial intelligence systems in intelligent buildings, including expert control systems, artificial neural systems, and intelligent decision systems, as well as the application of communication technology in intelligent buildings, including virtual LAN technology, communication network technology and broadband network technology. Artificial intelligence technology can reflect the current situation of buildings to people in real-time, judge emergencies instead of experts, and make the best choice to prolong the service life and stability of buildings. Communication technology can help users realize remote offices and home offices. The application of these technologies in intelligent buildings may not be mature at this stage, but the development and application potential are still very considerable.

At present, after more than ten years of development and application, China’s Internet technology has gradually become an area where many other industries urgently need cooperation. Taking the application of artificial intelligence in the automotive industry as an example, analyzing the impact of big data on intelligent travel in the information age, and improving the artificial intelligence control system in the information age will have a positive impact on my country’s information traffic construction. In this era of rapid development of global science and technology, artificial intelligence and industrial technology are converging at an unprecedented speed, driving social progress and industrial upgrading. In order to deeply discuss the latest development in these two and relevant fields, share research results, and promote academic exchanges and cooperation, we are honored to have organized the 2024 4th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Technology Applications (AIITA 2024). This proceedings is the crystallization of this event, which brings together the wisdom and insights of experts, scholars, engineers and technicians from all over the world. AIITA 2024 was grandly held in Guangzhou, China from April 12th to 14th, 2024 via hybrid form, attracting over 200 participants from all over the world. The conference aimed to provide a platform for experts and scholars, engineers and technicians, researchers and developers in the fields of artificial intelligence and industrial engineering to share scientific research results and cutting-edge technologies, understand academic development trends, broaden research ideas, and strengthen academic research and discussion. During the conference, the participants had an in-depth discussion on a number of topics related to the application of artificial intelligence and industrial technology, and jointly explored the new direction of future development. In the keynote speech part, latest research results and cutting-edge technologies in related fields including Graph Neural Networks: Models and Applications in Pattern Recognition (by Prof. Bo Jiang, Anhui University, China), Distributed GPU-accelerated Evolutionary Computation (by Dr. Ran Cheng, Southern University of Science and Technology, China), Quantum Model Learning (by Prof. Daowen Qiu, Sun Yat-sen University, China), Face Image Editing from the Perspective of Conditional Generative (by Prof. Si Wu, South China University of Technology, China), Cooperative Global Robust Output Regulation for Nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems with Switching Networks (by Prof. Wei Liu, South China University of Technology, China) were discussed. At the same time, we have set up a number of presentations and panel discussion sessions, in which participants gained more opportunities to have in-depth discussions and exchanges on specific issues. This conference calls for papers on a wide range of topics, covering all aspects of artificial intelligence and industrial technology applications. We received hundreds of submissions from all over the world, and after strict evaluation and screening, we finally included some excellent papers in this proceedings. With the rapid development of the social economy and the gradual improvement of residents' living standards, the increasing number of urban cars has exacerbated urban traffic congestion. This article analyzed the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in five aspects of urban intelligent transportation systems. Artificial intelligence technology was used in traffic data collection and processing to provide accurate data support for traffic decision-making. A traffic flow prediction model was established for traffic flow prediction and optimized scheduling algorithms were used to dispatch vehicles on congested urban roads intelligently. Artificial intelligence algorithms can be used to optimize urban traffic signal control systems in intelligent traffic signal control; artificial intelligence technology can be applied to develop intelligent driving systems in the fields of intelligent driving and traffic safety; in terms of data analysis and decision support, it can use AI technology to analyze a large number of traffic data to provide decision support for urban traffic managers, and analyze the impact of the application of AI technology in urban intelligent transportation system on urban economic growth. This article evaluated the economic benefits of artificial intelligence technology in urban intelligent transportation systems. The evaluation results show that the total economic cost of the urban intelligent transportation system after the application of AI technology was 2,961 yuan less than before the application of AI technology, significantly reducing the investment cost of roads. This article analyzes the application of artificial intelligence technology in the economic development of intelligent urban transportation systems, which can meet the needs of healthy urban development and ensure road traffic safety.

With the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, global economic models and market structures are undergoing profound transformations, particularly in the fields of international trade and logistics, where the application of AI is becoming a key driver for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer experience. Traditional international trade and logistics systems face multiple challenges such as supply chain opacity, high transportation costs, information asymmetry, and low operational efficiency. The introduction of AI technology, especially in areas such as big data analytics, machine learning, automation systems, and intelligent decision support, has gradually demonstrated its powerful potential in addressing these issues. This study aims to explore the specific applications of AI in international trade and logistics, as well as its role in driving the digital transformation of global supply chains. By analyzing the practical applications of AI in key areas such as supply chain management, trade data processing, and intelligent logistics, this paper seeks to provide valuable theoretical support and practical guidance for relevant enterprises and policymakers to promote industry development and enhance corporate competitiveness. To achieve this goal, the study adopts a case study approach, combining current industry data and AI technology development trends to comprehensively assess the current state and future potential of AI applications in international trade and logistics.

COVID-19, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), spread rapidly and affected most of the world since its outbreak in Wuhan, China, which presents a major challenge to the emergency response mechanism for sudden public health events and epidemic prevention and control in all countries. In the face of the severe situation of epidemic prevention and control and the arduous task of social management, the tremendous power of science and technology in prevention and control has emerged. The new generation of information technology, represented by big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, has been widely used in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of COVID-19 as an important basic support. Although the technology has developed, there are still challenges with respect to epidemic surveillance, accurate prevention and control, effective diagnosis and treatment, and timely judgement. The prevention and control of sudden infectious diseases usually depend on the control of infection sources, interruption of transmission channels and vaccine development. Big data and AI are effective technologies to identify the source of infection and have an irreplaceable role in distinguishing close contacts and suspicious populations. Advanced computational analysis is beneficial to accelerate the speed of vaccine research and development and to improve the quality of vaccines. AI provides support in automatically processing relevant data from medical images and clinical features, tests and examination findings; predicting disease progression and prognosis; and even recommending treatment plans and strategies. This paper reviews the application of big data and AI in the COVID-19 prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management decisions in China to explain how to apply big data and AI technology to address the common problems in the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the findings regarding the application of big data and AI technologies in sudden public health events lack validation of repeatability and universality, current studies in China have shown that the application of big data and AI is feasible in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These studies concluded that the application of big data and AI technology can contribute to prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management decision making regarding sudden public health events in the future.

The rapid improvement of the economic level has led to the prosperity of sports, and the rehabilitation training of athletes has also developed rapidly and has attracted widespread attention from all over the world. How to make track and field athletes quickly relieve the negative impact of sports injuries on the body during rehabilitation training is the most concerned issue in the field of sports medicine today. The traditional rehabilitation training cycle is long, and the rehabilitation effect is very small, which cannot fundamentally eliminate the injury and restore the athletes’ various physical functions and sports qualities to the original level. This article combines the latest artificial intelligence and virtual reality technology to analyze the causes and control strategies of athletes’ injuries and to understand the reasons for the injuries of track and field athletes in daily training and the various factors that affect their rehabilitation. And it was used in rehabilitation training practice and analyzed from four aspects: body shape, physical function, sports quality, and rehabilitation effect. The experimental results show that the rehabilitation training using artificial intelligence and virtual reality technology can make the athletes’ physical function recover more than 96%, and the overall average rehabilitation effect can reach 93.79 points, which is feasible to a certain extent. The application of artificial intelligence and virtual reality technology to the current stage of rehabilitation training can effectively improve the rehabilitation effect of track and field athletes.
