Abstract

In this chapter, selected economic models of migration and inter-industry wage differentials, discussed in Chapters 2 & 3, will be empirically put to the test, using a palet of estimation techniques, two large German micro data sets, and additional merged macro data. Background discussion of micro and macro data sets and the data-base technical details will be provided. An empirical analysis of inter-industry wage effects, migration wage impacts on natives, and finally the interaction of migration wage impacts on the interindustry wage differentials is the focus here.
