Abstract

DogFeeder is a mobile application developed on Android, the main objective is to control the feeding of dogs properly and healthy, through an electronic device that provides the ration of food that a dog needs according to daily energy requirements. In this sense, a nutritional evaluation was carried out where different factors such as size, race and weight were considered to define the daily ration of the dog’s food, in order that the food is healthy and balanced according to daily energy requirements. This work focuses on the use of the Arduino board, the communications services used by GSM/GPRS technology, and finally, the Android platform. In general, it consists of two parts: the electronic device and the mobile application developed on the Android platform. The electronic device has two main components: The Arduino UNO board and the Sim900 Gsm/Gprs module. The Sim900 module for Arduino is responsible for allowing communication between the electronic device and the mobile application remotely. The mobile application was developed on the Android platform, using a standard design according to Google Material Design guidelines, in order to make the application easier and more intuitive.
