Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of virtual teaching combined with simulation models in the teaching of intravenous infusion skills in pediatric nursing in vocational colleges. Method: A total of 296 nursing college students from the 2021 cohort were enrolled in the teaching of intravenous infusion skills for children using virtual and simulation models called Simbaby. A questionnaire survey and operational assessment were conducted before and after the teaching. Result: Students were highly satisfied with the teaching of virtual combined simulation models, with an average score of 92.5 in the assessment of intravenous infusion operations. In the interview with the head nurse of clinical pediatrics, the evaluation of nursing students was good. Conclusion: The combination of virtual teaching and simulation models has a good effect on the teaching of intravenous infusion skills in pediatric nursing in vocational colleges and can be promoted.
