Abstract
AbstractClosed formulas for the expansion factor α and the h function appearing in the second virial coefficient are derived by the Padé approximant method, using the first two or three series coefficients. The equations for α agree well with experimental results for small z, the excluded volume parameter. The equation for h agrees well with data over the entire accessible range of z.
