Abstract

Sensitization degree of the austenitic stainless steel welded joints was investigated by electrochemical methods of the double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DL EPR) in H2SO4 + KSCN solution, and by the measurement of corrosion potential of the steel in the drop of the solution of HNO3 + FeCl3 + HCl. The welded joints were tested by X-ray radiographic method in order to check the presence of the weld defects. Grain size of the base metal and the welded joints were determined by optical microscopy. Good agreement between the results obtained by different electrochemical methods was obtained. Heat-affected zone (HAZ) of the austenitic stainless steel welded joints has shown significant degree of sensitization. The double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic method gave quantitative evidence about susceptibility of the stainless steel to intergranular corrosion.

STRUČNI RAD

Interkristalna korozija je vid lokalne korozije koja se manifestuje rastvaranjem oblasti granica zrna metala. Dolazi do aktiviranja granica zrna, ukoliko je čelik sklon interkristalnoj koroziji. Faktori koji utiču na pojavu piting korozije (odnosno vrednost piting potencijala) kod nerđajućeg čelika 19Cr–9Ni, kao što su prisustvo aktivatora (Cl−), inhibitora (SO42− i/ili NO3−) i uticaj temperature (kritična temperatura pitinga) razmatrani su u literaturi [18,19,20,21]. Tomašov i saradnici [12,16,24] razradili su kvalitativnu metodu ispitivanja sklonosti nerđajućih čelika prema interkristalnoj koroziji, merenjem korozionog potencijala čelika u kapi rastvora smeše azotne kiseline, gvožđe(III)-hlorida i hlorovodonične kiseline. Merenje korozionog potencijala je jednostavna, kvalitativna, nerazarajuća tehnika određivanja sklonosti nerđajućih čelika prema interkristalnoj koroziji koja ne zahteva skupu opremu. Opisano je više elektrohemijskih metoda za ispitivanje sklonosti nerđajućih čelika prema interkristalnoj koroziji u radovima [12,16]
